Drugs are undoubtedly a major hindrance to prosperity. They include cocaine, hashish, marijuana etc. They deter the normal thinking of a student and lead’s to memory lapses and disinterest in education. Building castles becomes the main thing. This is mostly as a result of peer groups have lost focus and are full of negativity in each other’s life. It is obvious to maintain this kind of lifestyle, a lot of money is required, which leads to the need to participate in criminal activities like robberies prostitution, murder for money, bank robberies, gang raping, hijackings and all sorts of evils things all in the effort to fit in this circle.
Another majority of the group engage in casual sex with students or lecturers for money that lead to unwanted pregnancies, high rate of STI and STD transmissions and the worst of all transmission of HIV/AIDS a major challenge in the society. These infections are highly spread by sharing of things like needles.
Due to the above named issues experienced by students, education slowly fades from the list of priorities and this way great brains are wasted, doctors and engineers to be waste their lives, and all the dreams fade away, worst still lives are lost before someone corrects them and directs them to the right path. Early motherhood and great irresponsibility’s by young girl’s leads to a lot of school dropouts. Those that manage their way can barely put down a sensible essay for their lecture assignments.
